About the role 

An exciting opportunity exists for a Digital Marketing Specialist to join the growing BMJ Americas marketing team. This is an ideal position for an experienced and passionate marketer who wants to focus on supporting the achievement of a winning sales team. 

The Digital Marketing Specialist executes and analyzes B2B digital campaigns for our health science journals and clinical solutions across North and South America. You’ll play a vital role in driving awareness and engagement, onboarding customers, and supporting business growth through innovative marketing strategies.

You’ll work closely with our US marketing and sales teams while gaining global experience on cross-regional projects. We’re looking for someone with a growth mindset to help us test and adapt to the latest digital marketing trends and gain practical skills with support in mentorship, upskilling, and emerging areas like AI-driven marketing.

This role, reporting to the Head of Marketing, BMJ Americas, requires managing multiple projects and priorities in a collaborative, detail-oriented, and accountable work environment. The position can be based in BMJ’s US headquarters in Hoboken, NJ, or be fully remote within the U.S. Occasional travel is required.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute integrated digital marketing campaigns using email, advertising, video, and social media

  • Track and analyze campaign performance to identify effective channels, optimize strategies, and refine budgets.

  • Manage the central marketing team’s use of the video marketing platform Wistia, ensuring branding consistency, SEO alignment, and content repurposing

  • Create a digital content marketing program for our flagship journal, The BMJ, to promote medical research and drive engagement among American specialists

  • Serve as the American marketing team’s Google Analytics 4 expert, setting goals, establishing conversion tracking, and creating custom KPI reports

  • Collaborate with the Social Media Manager on B2B and B2C campaigns, testing approaches to maximize effectiveness

  • Support B2B marketing and sales efforts in lead generation, customer success, attribution, and analytics

  • Manage projects outsourced to external designers and vendors

  • Contribute to annual strategic planning and reporting

 

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Proven expertise in developing and implementing integrated marketing campaigns that drive engagement and conversions

  • Proficiency in email marketing, digital advertising, and social media management, including content development. Video creation skills are a plus

  • Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills; adept at managing internal stakeholders and collaborating across teams

  • Experience in healthcare or publishing is a plus

  • It is a bonus to be familiar with martech tools such as Google Analytics, WordPress, Adobe Software, Canva, Unbounce, ZoomInfo, Salesforce Marketing Cloud Account Engagement (formerly Pardot), or video creation software
