Accounts Payable Administrator

Job Overview

Job Title: Accounts Payable Administrator 

Contract:  Permanent Full time

Salary: £26,767 

Location: Cardiff (remote)

Application Closing Date: Friday 28th February


Job Purpose: To register and process all supplier invoices for BMA and BMJ within the defined processes and matrices. To ensure successful payment of invoices to external suppliers in line with credit terms and segregation of duties. 


Responsibilities

  • Registration of invoices submitted by supplier - via the system 

  • Criteria check against invoices received

  • Rejected invoices process

  • Prepare payment run for approval - actions any exceptions within required timescales

  • Raise credit memo - following correct approval

  • Follow coder/approver rejected invoices process

  • Liase with Western Union to manage any payment exceptions

  • Produce and distribute remittance advices 

  • Coding for invoices relating to: The BMJ, BMJ Journals, Customer Services 

  • Month End Reconciliation

  • Bank Statement Postings

 

Skills, Experience & Qualifications 

  • Educated to a good standard, degree not essential.

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work with numbers accurately

  • GCSE in English and Maths

  • Strong problem-solving skills to identify and resolve supplier issues

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment. 

  • Desirable experience of working within high volume transactional teams.

  • Desirable experience of working with Accounts Receivable/Accounts Payable.
