Job Overview
BMJ is seeking a Partnerships Manager to join the Events and Partnerships team, securing new partnerships and retaining existing business, with a particular focus on events and funded opportunities.

Within this, the Events and Partnerships team has a long history of working in collaboration with healthcare providers, health tech, global funders and government organisations to deliver education, share best practice and disseminate knowledge.
Your primary role as a Partnerships Manager will be establishing new event partnerships with these organisations and be responsible for sponsorship revenue for key BMJ events and projects. You will bring existing expertise in how to navigate the key decision makers and influencers in these organisations to understand their priorities and help them understand the benefits of working with BMJ.
Responsibilities
Identify new customers within target markets, sourcing contacts, defining initial sales pitch, setting up customer meetings and initiating the sales process.
To proactively cultivate and manage key strategic partnerships in support of existing and bespoke conferences, events and funded content.
Create compelling presentations & proposals and have a customer-led, consultative selling approach to customer propositions, based on partner needs and insights.
Accountable for key revenue targets associated to key BMJ events.
Work with the delivery teams on new projects and events and keep the delivery to deadline, acting as the key contact between the partner and internal teams & regularly tracking and reporting on progress.
To be the onsite contact and liaison with all partner relations for key BMJ events.
Maintain excellent relations with our existing key partners through regular engagement and identify areas of growth
Manage a pipeline of new partnerships and business opportunities for our BMJ events
Ensure project delivery according to contractual agreements on time and budget
Work with teams across BMJ and contractors as required to ensure deliverables
Communicate decisions and rationale to a wide range of diverse internal stakeholders to enable effective delivery
Experience
Proven track record of hitting and exceeding sales targets, particularly within an events environment.
Experience of developing and writing business/customer proposals.
Experience of dealing with high-level customers and clients.
Understanding of principles of event design and delivery
Skills
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Has a consultative approach to sales
Self-motivated, target driven individual
Ability to convey business and financial information simply and clearly.
Need to have an analytical mind, business acumen, a commercial outlook, and business development focus.
Ability to work on your own initiative and as part of a team
