As we continue to grow, we are looking for a dynamic Marketing Manager to join us on this exciting journey.
As a key member of our experienced and collaborative Strategic Marketing team, you will manage a portfolio of journals spanning multiple therapy areas. You will lead the development of marketing strategies and set objectives for the journals and subject areas under your remit. This will involve close collaboration with colleagues in the publishing team and, where appropriate, with partner societies. Working alongside our Customer Marketing team, you will oversee the development and implementation of tactical plans, tracking and reporting on their performance against established performance indicators and benchmarks. You’ll also have the opportunity to lead and contribute to the development of portfolio-wide initiatives and projects.
What you’ll be doing
Collaborate with stakeholders to define and develop product positioning and messaging to be used in marketing campaigns and by sales colleagues in customer conversations.
Contributing to new product proposals by providing market and competitor insight.
Developing and implementing objectives-led global marketing strategies to improve positioning and product impact.
Managing the marketing relationship with some high-profile medical societies and collaborating with their marketing teams to deliver your objectives.
Using data to inform strategy and to report back on the effectiveness of programmes to internal and external stakeholders.
Monitoring competitor activity to feed into overall portfolio intelligence.
Allocating and managing your marketing budget and ensuring a good return on your investment.
Skills, Experience & Qualifications
Significant experience in marketing STM journals.
Demonstrable knowledge of the STM and open access research landscape, including the roles of librarians, authors and funders.
Proven experience in developing and implementing successful marketing strategies, with curiosity and energy to iterate and experiment.
Strong understanding of key metrics and the ability to apply them to support objectives.
An evidence-based approach to decision-making.
Excellent internal and external stakeholder management skills, with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels, including strong written and presentation abilities.
Assertive and confident in managing conflicting priorities and stakeholder requests, with a strong ability to set boundaries and maintain focus.
Collaborative and proactive in working positively with colleagues across the team and other departments.
