Overview

Join BMJ's Data department as a Senior Business Intelligence Analyst and play a key part in enabling our data and information to meet business needs with real, useful insights.

You'll work closely with people across the company, building strong working relationships and using your expertise and knowledge of business intelligence to help us make good decisions and get great results.

This is a chance to really influence how BMJ uses data to improve what we do and where we're going.


What You'll Be Doing

  • Working with People: Collaborate closely with colleagues at all levels to understand how what they need can be delivered from our business intelligence capabilities.
  • Building and Improving BI: Create and improve visualisations, dashboards and databases in Tableau.
  • Making Things Easier: Automate processes to save time and accelerate time to insight.
  • Creating Trust: Make sure all our BI content and data is accurate and consistent.
  • Documenting: Creating clear guides and documents about how things work, including requirements, and data mapping.
  • Helping People: Providing support to users to solve problems and answer questions quickly so that they can be self-reliant.
  • Checking Everything Works: Making sure all reports and visualisations are fully tested and approved before they're released.


Ideal Candidate

  • Proven experience of collaborating with a wide range of stakeholders to deliver effective BI solutions.
  • Extensive expertise in using Tableau to create impactful data visualizations and dashboards.
  • Strong track record of driving process improvement, automation, and efficiency.
  • Experience in designing and developing BI databases and outputs to meet complex stakeholder needs.
  • Proficiency in producing detailed documentation, including requirements, specifications, and test plans.
  • Familiarity with agile delivery methodologies.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Ideally a degree in information sciences or equivalent experience
