Location: London (Hybrid)

BMJ is a global healthcare knowledge provider with a proud heritage and growing international reach. We are seeking a Growth Marketing Manager to join our Customer Marketing team.
In this key role, you will focus on driving new business and growth initiatives in the B2B healthcare and academic sectors, managing the entire customer lifecycle across BMJ Group products. You will work closely with product, sales, customer success, and technology teams to ensure marketing efforts align with business objectives, develop targeted lead-nurturing campaigns, and coordinate the marketing-to-sales handoff process.
The role involves forecasting and managing the budget for growth activities, monitoring and reporting on campaign performance, and driving continuous conversion rate optimisation initiatives.
We are looking for someone with proven experience creating and implementing growth marketing plans across a B2B market, who is confident in using CRM and marketing automation platforms to support BMJ’s overall business growth.
Key responsibilities
- Design, deploy, and optimise end-to-end lead nurturing and lifecycle marketing campaigns across the B2B sectors. This involves defining, managing, and executing the stages of the buying cycle with a clear communication strategy, content, and channel mix, including paid social, email, and content marketing, tailored to the buyer's needs at every phase.
- Lead continuous Conversion Rate Optimisation initiatives, A/B testing, and website optimisation for maximum lead acquisition. This includes designing, implementing, and analysing experiments to identify new growth opportunities and refine the customer journey on key website pages and lead-capture flows.
- Develop granular segmentation strategies and ensure personalised messaging for prospective customers. Effectively segment leads by their behaviour and industry to ensure timely and relevant messaging, which will enhance engagement and improve conversion rates.
- Collaborate with product, sales, customer success, and broader marketing teams to align strategies and ensure an efficient marketing-to-sales handoff. Establish clear, data-driven criteria for marketing qualified leads (MQLs) and work closely with commercial teams to provide marketing support for product trials and evaluations.
- Forecast, manage, and monitor the growth activities budget to maximise ROI, and report on campaign performance, providing actionable insights. Allocate resources across channels effectively and monitor, analyse, and professionally present results and key marketing metrics to senior leaders and internal stakeholders.
- Effectively utilise CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce) and marketing automation platforms (e.g., Pardot, HubSpot) to execute campaigns and manage data flow. Create and manage lead nurture campaigns, ensuring seamless integration and data consistency across platforms.
Experience and qualifications
- Degree, or CIM Diploma or equivalent experience
- Experience in STM publishing and/or healthcare marketing is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Experience of working with CRM systems
- Successful creation and implementation of B2B marketing plans and campaigns
- Proven experience of successfully engaging and collaborating across diverse teams (e.g., product development, marketing, commercial, technology).
Skills and behaviours
- Demonstrates self-direction in addressing business challenges (e.g., new product/region requirements) and CRM data (e.g., lead decrease) to develop and implement targeted, data-driven growth strategies.
- Exhibits strong relationship-building capabilities, with a proven ability to successfully liaise across multiple departments and stakeholders, specifically with sales, product, and commercial teams.
- Possesses excellent communication and presentation skills for confidently presenting results, insights, and new business ideas to both senior leaders and internal team members.
- Maintains a track record of effective problem-solving and proactive initiative-taking.
- Adapts flexibly, demonstrating creative problem-solving and a collaborative team-oriented approach.
