Job Title: Sales Representative 

Contract: Permanent (Full-Time)

Salary: Competitive 

Location: Office location is Hoboken, NJ, although role holder can work remotely from anywhere in the US

 

We are seeking a highly experienced and dynamic Sales Representative with a minimum of 7 years of proven success in medical publishing sales, particularly within the US Healthcare market.  The ideal candidate will have a robust network of contacts within these sectors and a deep understanding of the medical publishing landscape. This individual will play a pivotal role in driving revenue growth through strategic sales initiatives, maintaining client relationships, and expanding our market presence of the BMJ journals portfolio and the Clinical Decision Support tool, BMJ Best Practice.

Role Responsibility

  1. Strategic Sales Planning:  Develop and execute comprehensive sales strategies to achieve revenue targets.
  2. Client Relationship Management: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders to understand their needs and deliver tailored solutions.
  3. Product Knowledge: Effectively communicate value propositions to clients and prospective customer. Possess a deep understanding of BMJ’s Digital Health Solutions, their features, benefits, and applications within the healthcare setting.
  4. Proposal Development: Collaborate with internal teams to develop customized proposals and presentations that address client needs and demonstrate the value of BMJ’s digital solutions.
  5. Sales Forecasting and Reporting: Maintain sales pipeline via Salesforce, analyze data, and generate territory plans to track progress against targets and identify areas for improvement/change.
  6. Networking and Industry Engagement: Attend conferences and networking events to expand our reach, build relationships, and generate leads.
  7. Team Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams including marketing, product, and customer support to ensure alignment in achieving sales objectives.
  8. Effectively convert high quality leads

The Ideal Candidate

  1. Minimum 7 years of experience in B2B medical publishing sales, with a strong track record of exceeding sales targets; hospital and health system experience are preferred.
  2. Proven network of contacts within the healthcare industry, from Residency Program Coordinators, Medical Librarians through Chief Medical Officers
  3. Deep understanding of the medical publishing landscape, including industry trends, competitors, and emerging technologies.
  4. Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex concepts effectively to diverse audiences.
  5. Strong negotiation and closing skills, proven to drive revenue growth through strategic sales planning and initiatives.
  6. Analytical mindset with proficiency in sales forecasting, data analysis, and reporting tools.
  7. Self-motivated and results-oriented, passionate about driving success and delivering exceptional customer experiences.
  8. Bachelor's degree
  9. Willingness to travel up to approximately 50% to meet with clients, attend conferences, and industry events
