Job Title: Media and Internal Communications Coordinator

Contract: Permanent, full time

Salary:  £40,726 (per annum)

Location: London (hybrid)

Job Purpose

Lead the delivery and further development of an internal communications strategy that ensures BMJ employees are informed, engaged, inspired and empowered. Engage internal and external stakeholders to ensure end-to-end delivery of effective communications via multiple media to all BMJ employees worldwide.

 

Responsibilities

  • Lead on the design, production and delivery of relatable copy and content (videos, podcasts, graphic design, written copy both long and short form), delivered across multiple platforms, to ensure effective messaging for all BMJ employees and foster  a culture that is purposeful, ambitious, collaborative and energetic.

  • Proactively engage internal stakeholders to facilitate effective group communications, and support leaders in communicating with the rest of the business effectively.

  • Develop and implement internal communications plans for a range of projects, initiatives and campaigns, as required. 

  • Coordinate and manage communications on BMJ’s intranet, leading the design and information architecture evolution of the intranet platform 

  • Monitor the effectiveness of intranet communications using appropriate tools and approaches (e.g. Google Analytics) and produce regular reporting to provide actionable insight and analytics to key stakeholders

  • Proactively manage BMJ’s internal communications calendar, leading town hall and event coordination from pre-event planning and technical requirements  to post-event communications and analysis.

  • Continuous improvement - maintain a good understanding of internal communications best practice and new technological opportunities that can add business value to BMJ.

 

Skills, Experience & Qualifications

  • Experience in similar media and communications roles;

  • Experience in multimedia production (video, podcast and other online content);

  • Experience of working with intranet platforms and web publishing;

  • Experience in managing social media channels and developing online communities;

  • Experience of achieving results through working proactively, both independently and within a team environment;

  • Experience of engaging proactively with diverse stakeholders;

  • Advanced verbal and written communications;

  • Proficiency in multimedia production for multiple channels;

  • Proficiency in web publishing and design;

  • Excellent copywriting, editing and proof-reading skills, with strong examples of tailoring content to engage different audiences across multiple channels; 

  • Excellent interpersonal skills;

  • Comfortable with analysing data and reporting into the wider organisation to demonstrate results.
