BMJ is one of the world's leading healthcare knowledge providers.
The BMJX team runs a range of international and national healthcare events. These include large-scale international conferences, awards evenings, round tables, national conferences, and webinars.
We have an exciting opportunity for a new role of Marketing Assistant to join this busy and close-knit team. The role will work across all events in the BMJ events portfolio supporting the rest of the marketing team. Current events include The International Forum on Quality and Safety in Healthcare, BMJ Future Health, BMJ Leader Live, and BMJ Research Forum.
You will support the team in meeting their objectives to bring in poster presenters, speakers, and delegates by implementing effective, multi-channel marketing tactics to support the team's plans.
This role requires an individual who is enthusiastic to learn, is an effective communicator, a careful time manager, and a flexible multi-tasker with an eye for detail.

Key Responsibilities
Writing clear and engaging copy for different marketing channels such as email, social media, web and print advertising
Creation and sending of (at times complex) email campaigns to multiple audience groups
Organic and paid posting on various online channels such as LinkedIn, Twitter and Facebook
Working with agencies on digital campaigns including social media
Working with a designer and on your own for some smaller projects, producing printed and digital collateral such as social media assets, speaker collateral, print ads, and email banners
Updating events websites, particularly online programmes and speaker information
Choose, request, and place appropriate advertising messages on email alerts, websites and print publications across BMJ and selected external publications/services
Reporting on the effectiveness of campaigns and the website by consulting individual campaign platforms and Google Analytics
Budget tracking and reconciliation of marketing expenditure across the events
Join the team at events supporting with a range of activities such a room checks, registration and dealing with delegate queries
Occasionally perform essential administrative tasks such as arranging meetings and taking minutes in meetings.
Desired Experience
Junior/assistant entry-level marketing experience
A passion for writing copy and an understanding of how to write effective email campaigns, layouts, and creation
Shows pride in their attention to detail
Respect for deadlines and excellent time management with the ability to prioritise multiple tasks
Can demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and confidence in working with multiple stakeholders
An understanding of social media channels and what makes an effective post
An understanding of how to analyse campaign performance across channels particularly email and social media
Experience in using Canva or similar design software
Experience in basic video editing
Experience in events marketing is a plus.
